Brief History

The company started in 1971 and is owned by the Managing Director, Christopher Clayton. It began building the Laurent Giles designed BH46 Cruising Ketch in 1981, which was shortlisted for boat of the year at the Annapolis Boat Show. In 1985, we built Lord Montagu’s Nelson 35 “Cygnet”.

Initially based at Bucklers Hard Yacht Harbour, we moved our boat repair maintenance unit to Hythe Marina in 2016 while still retaining an active presence at Bucklers Hard through our Boat Sales Office and our relationship with the Harbour Master’s Office

Who We Are

BH Boat Yard Services are long term members of British Marine Federation. We are committed to its aims and standards for service. We are ISO 9001:2015 certified by NQA, and fully insured for all the work we carry out for our customers.

The company now provides a comprehensive service to boat owners through its three divisions; BH Boat Yard Services, BH Fabrications and BH Boat Sales.
